Project description:
In the SWOT analysis of the Sustainable Development Strategy of the Rawicz Commune for 2015-2020, the following issues requiring action on the part of the commune were identified:
- I. Insufficient monitoring infrastructure
- II. Road safety
- III. Car traffic and parking lots (significant communication load of the Rawicz center)
- IV. Ecology. Environmental education and environmental protection
- V. Civic community (the implementation of IT tools in the management of a commune requires cooperation with the residents, which makes voting or expressing an opinion easier, faster and more effective; encouraging citizens to discuss the development of the commune)
As part of the project, it was created an innovative, multidimensional model of city management, based on operational data from various sensory layers, which enables short and long-term decisions to be made.
The project provided for the involvement of ICT technologies: intelligent monitoring, air quality sensor systems, intelligent and energy-saving lighting, city data integration and a mobile application for two-way "city-inhabitant" communication.
As part of the project, it was creatde a Modular System "Safe City" – an innovative key element of the project based on Internet of Things, as a tool for better city management.
The creation of an appropriate, coherent, interconnected and comprehensive system for investment in infrastructure enables viewing, recording and playback of the image from the installed cameras with new possibilities, significantly extending the functionality of the system.
Basing the system on an integrated platform with built-in intelligent data analysis enables city safety management.
The research have been carried out allowing for the development of solutions to support decision-making regarding the current functioning of the commune and planning its further development. The created information system is a digital tool combining various areas of functioning of the commune and its inhabitants.
