Project description:
The aim of the project was to lay the foundations for building a smart city – a city realistically co-managed by its inhabitants. The basis for decisions made and opinions expressed (both by the local government and residents) is maximally objectified data. These data describes the present-day development position of the city and forecasts of the directions of its development, resulting from the data analysis.
Consequently, the overriding goal was to use the potential of the local community to create the city's development. In addition, the goal was to create a permanent basis for cooperation of all sectors, i.e. civic, administration, business and science for the co-management of the city of Krynica.
In addition to creating a smart city strategy for Krynica, a dialogue laboratory was also created, which is a place of cooperation and social innovation.
As part of the dialogue laboratory, there were created places like flexible stage and exhibition space, a cafe with a mission and a city laboratory, which is intended to be an instrument supporting the cooperation of thecity authorities with residents, entrepreneurs and scientific entities, aimed at improving the quality of local life by solving difficult problems using standards of public consultations. The laboratory is also a volunteer center and coordinate the use of municipal volunteering resources in various social initiatives.
