Project description:
The aim of the project was to improve ecological and public safety in the area of the city of Boguchwała.
For the purposes of monitoring the air condition, noise and auxiliary hydrological hazards, an infrastructure was built consisting of four stationary measurement nodes, equipped with weather stations, sector air condition sensors, directional microphones and remote rainfall sensors, as well as one mobile station moved on public roads or temporarily installed in selected locations.
By means of indications of measuring nodes the emitter of pollutants or sound disturbances was determined. A dynamic multi-layer digital map of the state of the environment was developed on the basis of a digital spatial map and a selected model of the spread of pollution or noise.
Knowledge about the level of ecological safety is used in the location of environmentally sensitive facilities, including nurseries, kindergartens, schools and social welfare centers. It is also used in the spatial planning of the city, in particular the location of residential buildings, burdensome production plants, as well as play an important role in the valuation of land.
Moreover, the inhabitants of Boguchwała are able to use the resources of the system and actively participate in its creation.
